The APICS-ID@ Mailing List Etiquette
- Topics discussed in this mailing list:
* General information about APICS CPIM/CIRM and Six Sigma certification.
* Study group setups, learning materials procurements.
* Topic/Issues within Production and Operation management body of knowledge or business practices.
- Write your real and full name when you send an email.
- Do NOT assume that all readers will understand the acronyms you write such as ERP, SCM, etc. Write the extensions of the acronyms every time you send an email to the mailing list such as
Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), etc.
- Job vacancies: Do NOT send any job vacancies that have no relationship with operations management. Write your full name and the company that you resepresents when you are sending job announcement.
- Try to read the archives and www.google.com before posting a query. Use Yahoo Groups Search functionality. If you can find the info on the archive don't re-post.
- Spammer / MLM or similar senders will be banned immediately without warning/notice.
- Do NOT send commercial advertisements from for-profit organizations including products and services such as training, seminar, and workshop. Send the advertisements to APICS-ID-owner@yahoogroups.com to get an approval. If the owner/moderator do not approve your adverstisement within 3 days, do not send your ad to APICS-ID@
Non-paid volunteers who sacrifice their time and money run Indonesian Production and Operations Management Society (IPOMS) and its mailing lists. It is unfair if you would like to profit from our members if you don't care about IPOMS.
First, please participate in mailing lists discussions and share your knowledge freely in our mailing lists. Second, do the following if you would like to advertise your products and services including training:
a. Your products and service must be related with operations management.
b. Pay the IPOMS annual membership in the amount of Rp. 150 thousand/year.
c. Pay Rp. 100 thousand each time you advertise on APICS-ID@. Advertisements in IPOMS mailing lists other than APICS-ID@ are prohibited without moderators' permission.
d. You must be willing to give a discount to IPOMS members.
e. Share some financial profits with IPOMS. However, IPOMS will not share any losses if your products and services do not make any money. As a non-profit organization, IPOMS has no money to cover your losses.
If you disagree with the above items, do NOT post your commercial advertisements on IPOMS mailing lists.
- We encourage you to write in English. Don't be afraid to make any mistakes. However, if you are uncomfortable with your English, you can still write in Indonesian.
- Please, refrain yourself from sending more than 2 mails in a day regarding to one topic unless there is an urgency to 'correct/answer' a problem.
- Write your e-mail subject relevant to your email contents.
- Postings with attachment are not allowed, except those from moderators. Although the moderators have this privilege, only in a rare occasion moderators execute this privilege. Please write the source URL/link if they are available. If you feel that the materials are really important, please send them to moderator to be uploaded on the Yahoo group web site.
- Try to be specific with subject and questions being discussed. Please provide any relevant information (link, quoted book etc) that will help others to help you.
- Don't over-quote. Include only the specific information you're responding to, and chop out the rest.
- Keep posts to the list brief. Avoid one-liner. If your post doesn't add value, don't send it. Don't send meaningless messages to the entire
list (Example: Don't send a "thanks" message through the list. Send something like that directly to the person you're thanking.)
- Be courteous to other list members. If you disagree with them, fine, just don't resort to personal insults
- Do not subscribe to lists with an email address with an auto responder function. This includes "Out of Office Auto reply" and other features. Doing this creates a large amount of wasted email, which can be a significant burden on a publisher with a large email list.
- If you think you need to respond to a question/problem/statement please ask this question, should I send this to 'everybody' or directly to the persons related only.
- Respect other people's opinions. If you disagree, do it politely
- Do not blatantly promote yourself or otherwise spam the list.
- Don't be critical of people's queries posted to the list. Many people are new to the electronic world. Send them a private message and gently help them find their way. We're here to learn from one another and no one enjoys being disciplined in front of their peers.
- Spell check and reread your messages before posting.

2. PAHAM isi email untuk konsumsi umum, bukan perseorangan
3. GANTI subject email jika ganti topik
4. HAPUS bagian email lama tak relevan (TERMASUK FOOTER YANG SEDANG KAMU BACA SEKARANG).
5. TAHU Quota Max : 2 email/orang/hari untuk topik sama kecuali moderator.
6. Hanya moderator yang boleh mengirimkan attachment.
